The Spirit Of Prayer

The Spirit of Prayer
Author: Samuel S. Mofunlewi; samlewi@engineer.com Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

There is such a thing as the spirit of prayer. It is the spirit of prayer that enables you to pray. It is the spirit of prayer that will move you to pray at odd hours of the night. If the spirit of prayer does not rest on you, the spirit of apathy will. The spirit of prayer drives away the spirit of slothfulness and sluggishness. It deals with apathy and laziness. It banishes lukewarmness. It abolishes spiritual carelessness. When the spirit of prayer rests on you, you will not be begged, pushed, cajoled or forced to pray, rather you will be moved to pray and in praying, you will receive fulfillment.

Brethren, we need the spirit of prayer. It is our greatest need of the hour. This is the hour of prayer. The spirit of the living God is calling us to prayer. It is time to pray more than ever. Many of the things, which will happen to us and our immediate environment in the immediate future, will depend on whether or not we will respond to this call. The destiny of several people will depend on whether we will flow with the spirit of prayer or not.

Is it not true that many negative things that happen to us could have been avoided if only we prayed? Many of us run to God in prayer only when we are in trouble! This should not be.

Brethren, pray to God today that He will baptize you with the spirit of prayer.

REMEMBER: A PRAYERLESS CHRISTIAN IS A POWERLESS CHRISTIAN.

LET US PRAY.

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” -1 Peter 4:7

“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” -Revelation 3:16
